I am looking for a crate for my puppy dog doberman. How big does it should be?

I read that crating is a good place to keep my puppy while I'm at work. I'm not sure how big should be, though. He is just a puppy now (only 2 months), but will grow to a medium sized Doberman (The breed is large enough, though). I am looking for a crate to keep him during the day while I work. I heard that dogs use the crate as their den (It seems, are animals that are looking for "holes" to dwell). From this case it sounds like it will be "the dog clubhouse" and I have blankets and toys there for he should have space for him to run like a puppy and just enough room to sleep, like an adult dog? How great that would need to be?

That What would make sense economically would be to buy a box that comes with a divider. In this way you get a crate that is big enough for him as an adult. For now, you put the splitter as you want small. The dogs do not like to put in their own waste, then the box has to be small so that you are not likely to mess in it.
