What is the purpose of crate training a puppy?
It is used as a case example of a bed, with bedding, food and water for the dog or as a place to go toilet? I know nothing about this and I'm getting a puppy and would love some advice. I bought some books are in order.

Should be big enough for the dog to stand, turn around, lie down comfortably, but not so large to use part of it for a bathroom, and leaves for a bed. It helps a lot with burglary, and also provides a safe place for your puppy to be when nobody can watch closely. My dogs go in their enclosures at night, if we stay out for a while, 'and go by yourself when things get too crowded or noisy, like when my kids have a lot of friends over. I never fed my dogs in their cages if we are not traveling. A puppy will need to go to the bathroom after eating very soon, so if you leave the food in the chest, not your give him more of an opportunity to do it well. Good luck with your new puppy.
