Puppy Wares

Since a survey conducted by the Census Bureau reveals that in every age group except 25 and under, the proportion of divorced people exceeded one in eight, and for these 40 and older who have passed one out of three, one can conclude a parallel between marriage and business. Mark Hendricks, (Startup Entrepreneur Magazine, March 2006) states: "The SBA, using data from U.S. Census Bureau, reports that nearly half of new businesses with at least one employee survive beyond four years."

It can be concluded that, while almost half survives, then a little 'more than half fail. Successful companies, whether they fold their goods online or offline, exemplify the same characteristics of successful marriages or relationships.

As a student at Sam Houston High School in Houston, Texas, in 1976, my first love, Pamela, has taught me some lessons of great value, which surprisingly made me more successful in the business sector than in any other area of my life. Please keep an open mind, because the great discoveries of life come from unexpected sources and the ability to look at old things in new ways.

Here are the remaining three lessons that, if applied, can give great personal and business value.

4) Where Your Heart Is, is where your treasures Lie

Pamela and I spent most of our leisure set. When not talking on the phone together, or go on dates, as the song "Georgia", has always stayed in my mind.

Consequently, I see some people who say they are in business, but spend so little time to think and grow their product or service. You can find out where the heart of a person was to be seen as a person invests both time and money in their relationship.

I do not regret a pizza occasionally, or gifts by hand, but real love story comes when you receive care of a person, investing some 'money in its maintenance. Kevin Wilke, co-founder of Nitro Marketing to explain "the rule of 90%!" says that 90% of Your success depends on your thinking and 10% will come from knowing "how" to do something.

Reports of success as companies are not put together Random files - in addition to good planning, the saying "it takes money to make money," is a reality. Spontaneity has its place, but for the long haul nothing works better than day to day planning and organization.

5) And they call it Puppy Love

No one knows the true heart and motives like you as regards access to your report and what we hope to get out. As the founder and initiator, only you know the parameters of your business - even if all other seen as a treatment.

If we consider as a serious thing, then do not treat it as a hobby (puppy love). Merriam Webster defines a hobby as an "exercise outside their usual special efforts to relax. "

If your company looks like a hobby (not really making money, even if you find it relaxing) could be only "puppy love". Sooner or later you will switch to something worthy of a strong commitment from you.

6) Know when to hold them and when Fold Them

The fear of failure keeps many people from a committed relationship, just as it prevents them from starting a business. Unfortunately, sometimes things just not work.

Many owners of successful companies have found success only after trying several other things that do not pan out - but learned from their previous mistakes. Alas as I loved her, Pamela and I broke a year or so later, but please, do not weep for me.

The lessons we have learned as a young couple I has served well in 24 years of marriage that followed a few years later. And as a bonus, Pamela and I remain good friends 30 years later.

The old adage still rings true especially in business. "If at first you can not, try, try again". You should add: "Because the experience is truly the best teacher."
