Help with 8 month old Cavalier puppy?
we have the greatest and smartest dog n a world...........:), we love him dearly and obviously when dog is coming into age a new personality traits develop and need to be monitored and controlled.
Here is my question, we live in NYC and recently my dog developed a habit of an unruly behavior when outside of the house.
he is jumping on by-passers, pulling in different directions, chasing birds and ripping my arm off when seeing other dogs.
i understand that part of this is his young age and developing personality, also he is still not neutered so that might be a factor as well.
Basically we're just looking for a few pieces of advise from Cavalier owners who's been through this.
Sorry to say, it's not the dog or the breed it's the owner. Check out clicker training and obedience classes. One of the best trainers I've seen is on the link below. When you are out walking your dog he should be at your side or behind you. When you stop walking he should sit automatically. One thing with dogs is it's never to late to start and he will be a happier dog knowing you have taken the lead.
